Enterprise: Protaiga Business Solutions Pvt Ltd

Founder: Aval Sethi

Industry: Digital and Technology

Year it was founded: 2017

Location: New Delhi, India

Aval started ProTaiga with an aim to bridge the gap between the procurement and supply chain industry in India.

GL: You were in the army before. So what made you start Protaiga Business Solutions Pvt Ltd?

Aval: After my premature retirement from the army in 2005, I worked my way through the corporate world and soon realised that I had great strength in vendor management and negotiations and went on to hone these skills. Having worked in Global MNC’s and working on procurement platforms, I saw the need for a robust procurement platform that would suit the Indian environment with its immature supply and supplier base. Most organisations deal with numerous vendors and if there could be a way of aggregating these vendors as well as client demands under one integrated umbrella then it would be a great solution. With that vision I went on to build ProTaiga, with its comprehensive and first of its kind - SaaS based - integrated buying solution, simplifying the procurement process and enabling clients to operate in a dynamic procurement and supply chain environment. ProTaiga’s unique solution revolves around three main offerings that include Consulting & Advisory, an intelligent enterprise platform that automates procurement process and a Diversified Supplier Network. The entire solution is built upon an aggregator business model aimed at bridging the gap between buyers and sellers, on a digital front by mitigating risks for them, negotiating best rates and maximizing savings for clients.

Our solution has been designed to address the various challenges faced by the Procurement and Supply Chain teams and stems from the need for a service combined with industry expertise and advanced technology that can be adopted by businesses looking to outsource the entire buying process.

GL: What has been the most effective way of raising awareness about your business?

Aval: Right from the start we have focused on the digital media and have established a credible presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

I built ProTaiga, to simplify the procurement process and enable clients to operate in a dynamic procurement and supply chain environment.

GL: What are challenges for your business to grow bigger, better and faster from here? What are you doing to tackle them?

Aval: The biggest challenge currently for us is funds to grow to the next level. In an ideal scenario we would look to someone with the same passion as us and who can support us with funds as well as enable a client base with their connections for a speedy implementation of our solution and help us expand our presence as well as capability.

GL: What advice would you give to a new entrepreneur setting up their first business?

Aval: To begin with, be very clear about your goal. Then create and if the plan doesn’t work, change the plan but never the goal.

GL: What is the next big thing on your business agenda?

Aval: We are looking at options to take our solutions to other Asian countries in this year.

GL: We would love to know the person behind the entrepreneur.
