Ask any small business owner & they will tell you that it requires vast resources of passion & resilience to sustain one’s enterprise. At critical junctures, a business owner may feel the need to get sound business advice to scale up, diversify and grow one’s business. Innergize Solutions Private Limited is a strategy and management consultancy firm that provides a broad spectrum of advisory services primarily to SMEs. They incorporated in 2006 and are based out of Mumbai.
'Innergize' is the amalgamation of the words 'Inner Strength' & 'Energy', the very qualities that they seek to harness & deliver to their clients. Led by Nilesh Ganjwala, Innergize offers an overarching set of strategic, advisory and execution services that are customised to a client’s needs to produce sustainable and process driven results.
In conversation with GlobalLinker (GL) Nilesh Ganjwala (NG) shares the journey of his advisory firm that focuses sharply on the SME sector.
GL: Tell us about your business.
NG: Having worked with various large and small companies, we realised that two critical issues needed to be addressed. One, the problems of the SME segment are distinct from those of the larger companies. Second, these companies need holistic solutions rather than specialised opinions and advice. Hence, Innergize Solutions was born with a sharp focus on SMEs, dedicated to long term relationships encompassing strategic advice, operational involvement as well as execution support. The functional capabilities included finance, taxation, legal, HR, corporate laws, compliance, etc. The company also provides execution and transaction support services in due-diligence, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, takeovers, buybacks and fundraising.
We have also created focused services dedicated for:
GL: What are the challenges you have faced in establishing your business?
NG: Fortunately, the concept of Innergize was quickly appreciated by the SME segment. The real challenge was in building up a team of like-minded and dedicated professionals drawn from diverse disciplines and weaving them together to provide seamless services. The initial years at Innergize were dedicated to building a team with a culture based on problem-solving and ownership. Since we predominantly work on long term relationships, the other challenge has been to identify SME clients with integrity and passion. This, we believe, has been the cornerstone of our success so far.
GL: What is the USP of your business?
NG: As I mentioned earlier, SMEs have distinct needs and there are very few advisory firms, who actually cater to this segment. SMEs need holistic support, both advisory and execution based, along with the comfort of having this support over the long term. Innergize has been conceived exclusively to meet these special requirements. Innergize is not focused on short-term or mere transaction based engagements and our clients sincerely respect and acknowledge this commitment.
GL: What are some of the milestones of your business?
NG: Innergize has grown well over the years in terms of its clients, team, resources, service offerings as well as client satisfaction. The best milestone for us is the revenue and profitability growth achieved by the companies that we work with. We feel proud that over 90% of the companies that we are associated with, have clocked annual profitability growth rates more than 25% over the last five years.
GL: What role do you feel GlobalLinker plays in connecting and assisting SMEs?
NG: GlobalLinker is a great initiative to bring together various SMEs and share their needs and aspirations with other like-minded corporates and professionals. The network of relationships that are being created by GlobalLinker is undoubtedly going to play a vital role in the growth of these SMEs in the coming years.
GL: What is your big business dream?
NG: We are exploring the possibilities of growing geographically as well as by alliances with like-minded professional firms from complementary disciplines including market research, marketing support, logistics and so on.
GL: What is your message to aspiring entrepreneurs?
NG: SMEs form the backbone of any growing economy and long term success is achieved by entrepreneurs who have vision and integrity. All business models must be built around core competencies duly supported by hard work and dedication.
